Look out onto the rolling countryside and you’ll find it hard to believe you can leave Langdale and be in London in less than 75 minutes.

Mentioned in the Domesday Book and boasting a magnificent medieval church, the rural haven of Thorpe Langton is a mere four minutes from the A6, half an hour from the M1 and the M6. The train from Market Harborough, less than five miles away, takes you to Leicester in 15 minutes, and London St Pancras in just an hour.

Thorpe Langton is part of a thriving local community. At the heart of the village is The Bakers Arms, a destination pub favoured by locals and visitors alike, and home to the annual Thorpe Langton Christmas Party. Just down the road is the Langton Brewery with its beer festival every summer. The Community Hall in nearby Church Langton hosts plenty of events, classes and activities.

The well regarded Church Langton Primary School (OFSTED: ‘Good’) is in the next village and there’s a good choice of secondaries, including Welland Park Academy (‘Outstanding’) and Robert Smyth Academy (‘Good’) in Market Harborough, and The Kibworth School (4 miles; ‘Good’). From Langdale you will enjoy unrivalled views of Langton Caudle Hill, a landmark on the Hallaton to Foxton leg of the Leicestershire Round.
