AT THE HEART OF VILLAGE LIFE
A thriving village community, stunning rural views and great schools. Walnut View has it all.
It’s hard to beat the idyllic views you’ll wake up to at this unique collection of luxury homes. In one direction, the medieval spire of St Michael’s Church peeps up through the trees, and in the other there are rolling fields as far as the eye can see. Situated on the edge of the pretty Leicestershire village of Hallaton, Walnut View enjoys stunning views across the ancient farmland of the Welland Valley. Not only is this area a delight for nature lovers, it also allows easy access to a thriving village community, great schools and good transport links.
An area rich in history, Hallaton is known the world over for its centuries old tradition of bottle kicking. Every Easter, villagers from Hallaton and nearby Medbourne battle it out in a giant rugby scrum to see who can carry a barrel over a stream. The rest of the year, village life is somewhat quieter, although a great local primary school, well-attended church and friendly pub ensure there is a strong
community feel.
The thriving market towns of Uppingham, Market Harborough and Oakham are all within easy reach with their range of shops, restaurants and leisure activities. The delights of Rutland Water with its walks, cycle paths and water sports are just a 20-minute drive away. Family days out can also be spent at nearby Rockingham Castle, which hosts spectacular battle re-enactments, and Nevill Holt, a beautiful stately home and outdoor opera venue.
When it comes to schools in the area, Hallaton C of E Primary School has a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating and is described as ‘a small school with a big heart’. For secondary education, well-regarded Uppingham Community College offers Ofsted rated ‘Good’ education for 11 to 16-year-olds. Notable independent schools nearby include Uppingham School (6 miles) and Oakham School (12 miles).
