Grace Homes was founded with an ambition to challenge the status quo of UK housebuilders and offer homes that stand out from the crowd and truly understand the needs of buyers. With the pressure to protect the environment amid heightened energy prices, choosing a new property with a low carbon footprint is understandably a priority for homeowners.
Our industry-leading commitment to innovation and quality combines the highest specifications with the latest developments in sustainable living. We align our values with the principles of the 2025 Future Homes Standard, which emphasises achieving EPC A-ratings for energy usage and carbon emissions.
It’s these features, combined with homes designed to rigorous standards of construction, using meticulous craftsmanship and a keen attention to detail, that results in an exceptional, high-quality finish.
Sustainable business ambitions
Reducing carbon emissions
Our focus on reducing carbon emissions is not only reflected in our design and build, but across our business. We use electricity from renewable energy sources across all our offices and developments.
While we appreciate the industry relies on the use of high carbon materials – concrete, tiles, glass, tarmac – it is important to have a plan of how to mitigate this as much as possible through education, innovation and awareness. We aim to collaborate closely with partners to create less waste and support more sustainable methods in as many areas as possible.
Net zero by 2040
In autumn 2023, we developed and launched our carbon reduction plan, which sets targets including reaching net zero by 2040. As part of this goal, our entire team has been given carbon literacy training to ensure we are well equipped to achieve our targets. This is something we are extending across our supply chain and have been actively working with our partners to not only reduce our footprint but theirs too.
Our dedicated ‘green’ team bring different skills to put our plan into practice; they check in on our supply chain to see how they are reducing their greenhouse gas emissions and encourage them to partake in training. With so many contractors now involved in both private and public sector procurement, there is an increasing emphasis and urgency to act.
Our mission is to create homes with an exceptional living environment with features that prioritise energy efficiency and environmental responsibility - we always try to think and act differently to the norm.
From a fabric perspective, Grace Homes has consistently beaten the requirements of sustainable housebuilding. With such rapid changes in building regulations and the Future Homes Standard 2025 not so far away, we wanted to be ahead of this and embrace the changes before they are introduced.
The only way to achieve a high SAP rating is through the installation of solar panels and heat pumps which is done across the board at Grace Homes. In addition to this, having a hybrid inverter and a hybrid charger ensures the power being collected can be utilised or stored for later use. The secret to running these homes effectively, and what we aim to educate our homeowners on, is maximising the use of power at night and charging the battery in the daytime. Insulation is another key component of our homes, and we install 150mm insulation on cavity walls and 400mm in the loft space, as well as underfloor heating.
Much of what Grace Homes is working to achieve requires a mindset shift with building regulations still being relatively new. But the passion for our projects is such that we want to provide sustainable homes to last a lifetime.

Case studies
Chestnut Edge is a development of beautiful, traditionally designed homes incorporating some of the latest eco-friendly technology, reducing energy needs without compromising character.
Located near the rural idyll of Stoke Albany, it comprises 18 spacious homes ranging from two to four bedrooms, beautiful and traditionally designed while incorporating some of the latest eco-friendly technology. All market homes are EPC A-rated with a range of energy efficient measures including solar panels, a hybrid inverter, air source heat pumps, underfloor heating, high levels of insulation, smart EV charger and full fibre broadband.
These homes look good too: they’re all sizeable plots with great street appeal. Natural stone, red brick and rendered walls are paired with natural slate or traditional roof tiles. Each market home has a double or single garage and all homes have generous parking and private rear garden.
Work began on this site in Spring 2022 with plans to create a sensitively designed residential development. Drawing from the local character and assets of the site we brought forward a scheme with its own sense of place, creating high quality accessible homes and amenities for both the existing and new residents.
Awards
We proudly put ourselves forward for consideration in the WhatHouse? Awards 2024 under the Best Sustainable Development category. We believe the work that has gone into making our Chestnut Edge development a positive, energy efficient community is worthy of this award.
