Grace Homes has been awarded "UK medium-sized housebuilder of the year" at the NFB's Construction Awards of Excellence 2023. The Construction Awards of Excellence 2023 is an independent awards ceremony, operated by the National Federation of Builders. These independent awards honour the exceptional contributions of companies and individuals in the construction and building sector across Great Britain. Ashlawn Meadows, a development of ten striking new homes on the outskirts of Rugby, triumphed over finalists across the West Midlands to be awarded the title of ‘Best Medium Volume New Housing Development’. This follows similar successes in 2021 and 2020 when Grace Homes’ developments “The Orchard” at Swinford and “Langdale” at Thorpe Langton were both ‘Regional Winners’ in the East Midlands. Winning the award qualifies us for a place in the National Building Excellence Awards, due to take place in January 2023.
We have reached the finals of the SME Northamptonshire Business Awards in the Positive Impact category. Our Local Foundations initiative has gained us a seat at the table because of the tangible benefits it helps to bring to the community - we couldn't be more proud. The finals are in June, where the winners of 15 separate categories will be announced. We wish everyone the best of luck.
The monthly Quality Recognition Awards (QRAs) recognise developers who consistently deliver quality workmanship and site management. We were thrilled when Walnut View in Hallaton was recognised in November '21. Henry Barney commented: “Despite the obvious challenges faced over the last year our team has stepped up to the mark. This QRA is a much-appreciated pat on the back for everyone". All winning sites for the year are shortlisted for the annual Excellence Awards.
Our Swinford development, The Orchard, has been named the 'Best Medium Volume New Housing Development in the East Midlands' at the LABC Building Excellence Awards. This is the second year running that one of our developments has been recognised, and we are absolutely over the moon. Winning the award qualifies us for a place in the National Building Excellence Awards, due to take place in January 2022.
We have reached the finals at the National Building and Construction Awards, designed to raise the profile of industrious, hardworking and enterprising building and construction businesses. Our Local Foundations initiative won a place in the Community Engagement category after we were able to demonstrate a significant impact, bringing a tangible benefit to the community. The finals are in November, where we will be up against seven other worthy finalists. We'll be keeping everything crossed.
The Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards recognise exceptional businesses and business people. The awards are designed to shine a spotlight on the hard-working, talented teams in the county, the people who work hard in the local communities, and those who inspire others. We are so proud that our Local Foundations initiative has been considered for a place in the finals.
We're thrilled to be one of only three housebuilders to have made the finals in the ‘UK Housebuilder of Year’ category of the prestigious Construction Awards of Excellence 2021. The Awards were created by the sector, for the sector, and were designed to recognise those individuals and companies that set the gold standard in construction.
The National Federation of Builders (the trade body representing builders, contractors and housebuilders across England and Wales) funded the Awards, which were run and judged entirely independently by a panel of judges and chaired by Lord Stunell.
We've been crowned ‘Winners’ at the LABC Building Excellence Awards. Our Langdale development in Thorpe Langton triumphed over finalists from Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire to be awarded the title of ‘Best Small New Housing Development’ in the East Midlands.
Chris Lavin, the lead Buildings Control Officer for this project from Harborough District Council Building Control, stated: "We have an excellent working relationship with Grace Homes, and it is a privilege to have been able to work with them on this scheme. Grace Homes is committed to producing excellent quality homes, and this has been evident throughout the inspections in all the plots."
Grace Homes has been crowned the top business for 'Service Excellence' in the SME Northamptonshire Business Awards. To secure a place in the final we needed to demonstrate that we give outstanding assistance and advice to those who buy our homes. What's more, we needed to be able to provide customer testimonials to back up our nomination. Thankfully, we have a wealth of happy customers willing to provide feedback around the positive experiences they've had when buying a new home from Grace Homes.
Category judges, Borneo Martell Turner Coulston commented: “Grace Homes has worked hard to implement a process which completely focuses on the customers' needs, from the initial sales meeting through to moving into their new home and beyond.”
We were announced as winners of the Worcester Bosch Group Environment 2020 Awards, in the House Builder Specification category for the homes built at White Lodge Farm in Burton Latimer.
Not only are these new homes constructed to our usual high standards of quality, but they collectively produce over 10 per cent of their energy requirements from renewable sources.
The team at Grace Homes were delighted that three separate developments reached the Finals of the prestigious LABC Building Excellence Awards for the Central Region. The Fieldings in Brigstock was short-listed for two awards - Best Small New Housing Development and Best Change of Use of an Existing Building or Conversion. White Lodge Farm in Burton Latimer, and Mackworth Drive in Finedon were also both short-listed in the Best Small New Housing Development.
Everyone worked closely together to ensure the works were completed to a high level of compliance, and this has been borne out by the positive feedback received by the building control surveyors. As ever, our customers are the most important barometer of how well we have performed. Some of the positive feedback received for these developments includes: “All of our friends and family have been very impressed with the property, and we are hugely impressed with the quality of the finish.” “We have lived in two new builds before, but Grace Homes’ quality of build and finish is much, much higher.”
Herne Lodge has been given a place in the final of the Regeneration and Rejuvenation category at the Celebrating Construction Awards. We have been recognised for our painstaking restoration of this former hunting lodge, transforming it from a derelict shell into four luxury apartments.
Grace Homes will be joining more than 300 leaders and innovators from across the construction sector at the Awards in May, where this prestigious ceremony will focus on the East Midlands’ most inspiring construction projects and people. Should Herne Lodge be chosen as the winner on the night, this project will automatically be entered into the Grand Finals that are held in London later on in the year.
Grace Homes Sales Manager, Annie Wicklow, was highly commended in the ‘Unsung Hero’ category at the national LABC Warranty Bricks Awards. Celebrating the best in the house building industry, the awards recognise companies and individuals who stand out from the rest and go the extra mile, regardless of size, to deliver quality in construction and design.

White Lodge Farm in Burton Latimer was crowned winning housing development for the excellence shown from a construction and technical building control point of view. More than 250 people, including contractors, architects, designers and local authority building control surveyors gathered for the ceremony, often referred to as 'the Oscars' of the construction industry.
This award winning development has been automatically shortlisted for the LABC Grand Finals, to be held in London in Autumn '16.
We are thrilled our site manager Andy Redgwell was crowned 'LABC Residential Site Agent of the Year' for the Central Region. Henry Barney, Managing Director of Grace Homes, said: “The team at Grace Homes works hard to achieve a rigorous standard of construction and a high quality of finish in our homes, so it’s brilliant that Andy has been formally acknowledged again.”
Andy has now been entered for the LABC Grand Finals which will be held in London this Autumn.
