When Les and Marie Glover moved from a four-bedroom, detached house in Bedfordshire to their three-bedroom semi-detached home at White Lodge Farm in Burton Latimer it would be fair to assume they were downsizing. But when we got in touch with them it quickly became apparent that this wasn’t necessarily the case. In fact, their new home has provided them with more room than before.
In Les and Marie’s words, “It was the space that you get with Grace Homes that we liked from the start. We now have a smaller home but there is less wasted space because the layout is better.”
It’s not just the internal space that Les and Marie are pleased with, either. They told us, “There is more room inside and out. We have a nice-sized garden, each of our neighbours has a garage, and there is plenty of parking. We feel like we have the best house in the best close because it is so quiet.”
It was not just the additional space that initially caught their eye. The standard specification and the build quality were also key considerations when deciding which new home to buy. Les told us, “You get the same high-quality specification regardless of the size of home you buy from Grace Homes. With our last new home, bought from a different developer, only the larger homes had the higher quality specification as standard. We particularly like the underfloor heating, the high quality of the kitchen, and features such as the security system that are included in the price.”
Overall it is fair to say that Les and Marie are very happy in their new home. When asked what they liked most about it, they said “Our home is very warm and cosy and is finished to a high standard. The first day we moved in we looked at each other and said ’this feels like home’.” We wish Les and Marie many happy years at White Lodge Farm.
