Northamptonshire housing developer, Grace Homes Ltd, is supporting a local cricket club through their ‘Local Foundations’ initiative.
The ‘Local Foundations’ initiative was set up to support causes and communities near any Grace Homes developments, by supplying financial contributions, skilled trades, or materials, or providing support in other ways, such as educational opportunities.
Previous examples of this support have included providing equipment for a sensory room used by vulnerable children attending a school in Rugby; assisting with the purchase and installation of traffic calming speed signs in Wymondham, Leicestershire; and providing funding to get the church bells repaired in Lubenham, near Market Harborough.
SUPPORTING THE CRICKET CLUB
Brigstock Cricket Club recently applied for ‘Local Foundations’ assistance for provision of sand and aggregate from Grace Homes. The materials provided are to replace their existing timber decking with traditional concrete slab, as the timber decking had become a slip hazard and the concrete slab will be both safer and have a longer life span.
The patio, located in front of the pavilion, will be used and enjoyed by both players and social members, during matches and social events.
Brigstock Cricket Club was formed in 1895 and currently run two senior teams as well as youth cricket. The popular club also has 100+ social members, and opens the bar during training and social events, such as BBQs, live bands and sometimes large televised sporting events.
WINDMILL MEADOW
Grace Homes Ltd are currently building 35 new build homes off Stanion Road in Brigstock, having previously built their very first home in Brigstock, 25 years ago, as well as another small development in the village, a few years ago.
Community is important to Grace Homes, and they have been keen to get involved where possible, last Christmas taking part in the Brigstock Living Advent Calendar, which helped raise over £2000 to be split between Brigstock Village Hall and Corby Foodbank
Allan Unwin is the Site Manager for Windmill Meadow, Brigstock and says “community brings a sense of belonging and makes you feel part of a wider family. It’s great when we’re able to support local causes and integrate with the local community.”
