A TALL ORDER? TAKING ON THE TALLEST ABSEIL TOWER IN THE WORLD!

Two intrepid employees from Grace Homes Limited have volunteered to take on the extreme challenge of abseiling down the world’s tallest abseil tower to raise vital funds for Cransley Hospice in Northamptonshire!

Sales & Marketing Manager, Emily Smith, and Quality & Customer Care Co-ordinator, Jenny Welbourn, have bravely signed up to take on the challenge of abseiling a staggering 418ft (127m) down the National Lift Tower as part of Grace Homes Ltd’s ongoing support for Cransley Hospice.

The pair, neither of whom have abseiled before, will complete their abseil challenge on Saturday 15th June and it’s fair to say they have mixed feelings about it!

“I’m excited to try to raise some much-needed funds for charity,” says Jenny, “but I’m also absolutely terrified of heights, so I’m feeling very nervous about it too!”

CHARITY PARTNER

Grace Homes have been partnered with Cransley Hospice since 2022 and to date have raised more than £13,500 for the charity, by holding bake sales and doing other sponsored events such as a skydive and taking on the Yorkshire 3-Peaks Challenge.

Cransley Hospice support patients, families and carers when someone has a life-limiting illness and are passionate about high quality hospice and end of life care being available to all.

Laura Cakebread, who heads up Grace Homes’ fundraising efforts says “Our team have gone to great lengths in their charity fundraising – whether by facing their fears on skydives, taking on physically demanding tasks in the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, baking and selling cakes, or dipping into their pockets to support their co-workers.

Originally, we set out to raise £5,000 in 2 years, but after smashing that target within first 12 months, we decided to really challenge ourselves by increasing our target to £15,000! We’re so grateful for everyone’s support to help us raise money for such a good cause.”
