Herne Lodge Chimneys Find a New Home

With all of our developments we like to re-use the materials that are already at the location. We believe this helps to blend in the new with the old, and create homes that look and feel like they have always been there. If you were previously acquainted with Herne Lodge at our Old School Avenue development in Oundle you would be quite correct in thinking that elements of the entrance look vaguely familiar.

In fact, the ashlar stone piers situated at the entrance to the tree-lined avenue have been constructed from material reclaimed from the chimneys on Herne Lodge (originally a Victorian hunting lodge which later became the school house for St Christopher's Preparatory School).

We are currently in the process of restoring this beautiful building and converting it into four luxurious apartments that will be released for sale in early 2016. As part of the restoration process we have been able to preserve and re-use the ashlar stone blocks and walling stone, giving it a new lease of life for all to see. We think they create a wonderful entrance to Old School Avenue and hope that you do too.
